I had a moment as I was pulling into work yesterday morning: the windows rolled down listening to Lana Del Rey’s new album, I got out of the car and walked into the building in 80 degree weather at 9am in this outfit, and I thought, wow it’s summer. Summertime is here. It’s almost hard for me to believe after that endless winter. And don’t tell the future me in approx one weeks time when I really can’t deal with the humidity, but it feels amazing. There’s something great about experiencing summer on the East Coast where its 85 – 95 degrees everyday for 3 months, from sun rise to sun set, like clockwork. I really haven’t experienced that before, ever. And here we have what will surely be my summer uniform: my favorite easy tee, a throw on denim skirt, and my new favorite sandals – Tevas. For most people Tevas bring them back to the mid 90s – we all had them, I wore them with socks in middle school. And while I am totally not getting on board with the Birkenstock thing (I actually wore them not that long ago in the 2000s in college, and I get that they’re like all fashion right now (chic?) but I.Just.Can’t. do it again- mostly because everyone else apparently can and I have big feet). I was hesitant on the Teva thing too, but then I saw this, and then them here, and then this was really the topper on the cake, and all of a sudden, I wanted them. I think they’re pretty cute (right??!!), and they’re not Birkenstocks :-). So welcome Summer, I’m so ready for you. xx
