One of my favorite Fall 2012 trends is the Gothic Glamour look that was all over the runways in Feb. Deep onyx and oxblood color palette with layered lace, leather and velvet texture. There is something so moody and mysterious and rich about the trend that I am so attracted to, plus I love that this is a take on goth that is ultimately feminine – think peplums and floaty skirts, dark florals and loads of jewels. A different kind of Goth than your average High School angster.
This trend is definitely going to be heavily inspiring my look when I am in New York next week for Fashion Week. I am so excited to be back for my second year (you may remember this post from last year), hitting the tents of the Lincoln Center for the Spring/Summer 2013 shows. I can’t wait to share all the madness and fun and serious fashion with you guys here on the blog so stay tuned!

Love your picks, especially the Rebecca Taylor Nailhead dress. I think the most enticing aspect of this year’s Gothic trend is the way it’s been paired with Romanticism for a lovely refined, feminine take.
Oh, I adore this look. I just bought this great tiered maxi skirt that totally fits this aesthetic. I was thinking of pairing it with girly pieces, but maybe I will look for something a little more glam. ;)

Honest, I dunno what kind of goths you have near by, but when I dressed as one – I stopped doing it when I reached 34 – I was highly feminine, very romantic in my looks, very victorian and medieval, and so where most goths I knew… we wore lts of lace, lots of velvet, pretty jewelry… much like this trend, actually ;)
